What is a DTF transfer and how does it work?
A Direct to Film (DTF) transfer is a full-color heat-applied graphic printed onto a special PET (polyethylene terephthalate) film with DTF ink and a hot-melt adhesive powder. You place it on your garment and press with a heat press at the correct temperature and pressure for 10 plus 7 seconds. The design bonds to the fabric fibers and is ready to wear. It works on cotton, polyester, poly-cotton blends, nylon, canvas, and most other fabrics in any color — including black.
What is a gang sheet and why should I use one?
A gang sheet is a single, large continuous roll of transfer film packed with multiple different images, logos, or designs arranged closely together. Our gang sheets range from 22"w X 12"h to 22"w X 240"h. Instead of paying for individual transfers, you fill the sheet and pay per square inch of film. As you purchase more, price per square inch goes down. This can save up to 40% compared to ordering each design separately. Gang sheets are ideal for shops ordering in bulk, brands running multiple designs, and decorators who want maximum value per order.
How fast can I get my order?
DTFJAX's standard turn around is next business day with a midnight cutoff. What file types do you accept?
We recommend PNG files with a transparent background for the cleanest results. Files should be 300 DPI at the final print size. We have a free Canva Export Tutorial video that walks you through getting a print-ready file even if you designed your artwork in Canva.
We also accept PDF and SVG vector files.
Do I need to own a heat press to use DTF Transfers?
You need access to a heat press. While an iron will transfer the image to a shirt, the pressure from a heat press will adhere the image to the shirt and will last many wash cycles. It will not last wash cycles using an iron.
